Micro-credentials have been gaining momentum across the state of Illinois as a “learn by doing” form of professional learning. In this session, you’ll hear how Hinckley-Big Rock CUSD launched a micro-credential-based program during COVID that focused on supporting teachers with implementing blended instruction. You’ll learn about their successes and lessons learned as teachers engaged in this new competency-based program, and how this program supported growth in student achievement during a challenging time. Attendees of this session will leave with a better understanding of what micro-credentials are, how they differ from traditional professional development, and how they can be used to support educator growth and advancement. This will be an interactive session where attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with speakers about their experiences.
